I ask myself where I am in life? Am I on course? How am I doing? Is it true that I have to rush? I lose much sleep with trying to answer these questions. Most of the time I just couldn't help asking. Here's how I sleep almost all the time: I lie on my bed and keep awake for at least one hour pondering of almost everything in my life, and then I sleep eventually. So I think myself to sleep. Too rarely that I'm able to sleep after I lay my head on the pillow. What's more unusual and at first I thought it was impossible, but it happened on several occasions that I was too tired to sleep. I was literally awake on my bed while I feel the fatigue wearing down my body. When I looked on my window, the sky had already become bright and blue. I knew that I didn't sleep that night -- and again I was completely tired. No sense in staying in bed, so I'd get up like a complete wreck and then falter back and sleep throughout the day. I truly understood what my mom meant when she said that she was too tired and she couldn't sleep.

I guess sleep is one of my problems in my age. I recall mentioning this problem already and it's nothing new. I know from my psychology class that maintaining an 8 hour sleep is the answer to get a good sleep every night -- no more, no less. With my schedule, it's hard to get 8 hours of sleep for a number of consecutive nights. First of all, I write at night and ideas only come during the night. Second, the fun begins at night when you're in your 20s. Third, I go to school during the day and work through the evening; by the time I get home to unwind, it's already past 10pm. Fourth, I have no weekend. You read it right. That is why, I really think there's something wrong with my schedule.

How am I doing in school? My grades just came through, and I have not failed any subject this winter term! It's great news for me, because it means I'm going forward. I may not be able to graduate within four years because of my circumstances, but I'm still going forward. And it made me think that maybe it's time to let go of my work. I have to concentrate on my study. This is my future we're talking about, and I'm not aiming just to wing my subjects. I know I can do better. I want my future to be something more than 'passing'. It's not wishful thinking.

There's this feeling of rush and pressure around me. And I'm not sure if I'm doing okay. Until now, I have no idea what I want to do in life. Or I'm not sure. I have some idea, but I don't know how it would work out. And that's the most important thing to know, how to reach the destination. There should be a map or a guide, right? At least I have a guide, but if there would be a tangible map, my life would be easier. I guess I want to break the monotony in my life. But like I said, maybe the monotony is a sign that everything's fine. If that's true, then I guess I should be satisfied. However, maybe I just need someone to tell me how I'm doing.

It's Mothers day, everyone. Let your moms know that you love them. Just for one day, just for one moment, overcome your embarrassment or whatever obstacle preventing you to say that you love your mom. It's cool. Don't listen to anybody that tell you otherwise. Kiss your mom on the cheek. Massage her back. Give her a warm drink. Tell her 'I love you.' Bear in mind their sacrifice. Because while we're busy growing up, our mothers are growing old. Happy Mothers' Day, everyone!
